Veteran Horsemanship Program

Service Description

As part of the extensive range of horse-related programs at Mangold Ranch Versatility, we offer a "have it your way" horsemanship program for veterans where we design the riding program based upon your needs. Mangold Ranch Versatility is a place for veterans to assist them transition from military to civilian life, as well as acquire coping skills and reduce any difficulties that may have arisen during their service. Veterans from many eras, from Vietnam to OIF/OEF, participate in the program. Many of the individuals served during peacetime, yet many also had traumatic experiences while doing so. The goal is for the horses to assist veterans in learning new ways to manage their energy levels, calm down, focus, ground themselves, and re-learn to trust. We work with veterans who have a variety of physical, emotional, psychological, and developmental needs. On staff, we have horseback riding instructors. We do not have a physical or occupational therapist on staff. The Mangold Ranch Versatility Veteran Horsemanship Program Includes: A specialized hour of horsemanship with a Senior Trainer Riding, Lunging, & Groundwork of many sorts! Grooming Tacking Doctoring Injured Horses Bathing Horses Driving of the draft horses or mini horses Leadership and Sensory coaching L E A R N all about Horses from the Ground_UP! Individualized Programs Please keep in mind that the our trainers will assess each veteran’s skill level and readiness before introducing new things. There will always be extra assistance for every ability as the safety of our students and horses is our top priority. Please know that anything we do will be in both of our best interests. Our goal is for everyone involved to have a positive experience with horsemanship and everything it has to offer. The Have It Your Way Horsemanship program is $100 per hour and is paid monthly. Because spots in this program fill up rapidly, the student's seat is secured by making a prepayment. If we have to cancel lessons due to unforeseen circumstances, we will make note. Missed classes can be preserved and made up later with an instructor at a mutually agreed upon time. Mangold Ranch Versatility has a waiting list for Have It Your Way Horsemanship riding classes.
